Slow down, pull over for emergency vehicles

| July 28, 2007 9:00 PM

I have just returned from a fire call on Highway 95, and it still amazes me that people see emergency lights on the side of the road and don't bother to even lift their foot from the gas pedal around the scene.

Is it so much of an inconvenience to slow down for a quarter-mile or so? Do you really want to go to sleep every night knowing you hit a police officer, firefighter, or any of the other people who have to work on this highway? On behalf of all the public service agencies, please slow down.
