Get rid of weed problem by any available means

| July 30, 2007 9:00 PM

I moved here over 15 years ago and was lucky enough to buy a home on Fry Creek in Sagle.

I used to watch water skiers in Comeback Bay do practice jumps on the ramps they had built in the water. What fun.

Now the weeds are so thick in the water that there is no ramps or water skiers , boats need to travel the bay and Fry Creek at a dead slow speed to keep from fowling their props. I watch many boats enter Fry Creek and turn around because they cannot get through the weed.

The weeds are much worse this year over last year even though some county weed control was used last year. I watch daily big clumps of weeds float by my house on the way to the lake. These clump just go out and reseed the lake. We should have controlled these weeds years ago and if we had we would have much less of a problem today.

We can point our fingers and blame others but the problem is here and needs to be fixed. We do not want home owners going out on their own and using commercial products like 2,4-D and others in the lake. It is against the law and presents a danger to all of us. So goes Fry Creek so goes our lake. Let's fix the problem now.
