Sometimes, relaxing can keep you pretty busy

| June 2, 2007 9:00 PM

I have been retired for a few years now. I thought when I quit my job to stay home, I would have lots of time to do nothing. Wrong. I am busier now then I ever was when I was on the job.

People seem to think if you are retired, you have nothing to do. Wrong. There is always something to do. People are always saying since you have nothing to do, you can do this or that. I like to help people, but only when I want to, not always at their convenience. I am retired and I would like to do things when I want to, and if I just want to lay around and do nothing, that's the way it should be.

So if someone wants something done, ask me if and when I can do it. Not, I want the car washed today or you can cut the grass this afternoon. Someone once said, "Ask, and you shall receive. Demand, and you get nothing."
