Will this be the time BCSO listens to people?

| June 2, 2007 9:00 PM

What happened with the Bonner County Sheriff's Office "random" survey?

On May 9, 6 p.m., there was to be an explanation of what the survey revealed. This explanation was to occur at Sandpoint High School. The date, time, location had been published in the Bee earlier.

Approximately 20 people showed up (this does not include Steve Kent and his partner, who conducted the survey) — the sheriff, undersheriff and nine of her administrative staff, three ex- sheriff's office employees (myself included), maybe three citizens and one reporter.

Mr. Kent proceeded to suggest some ideas for the betterment of the department. For the most part, it was the same material covered three and a half years ago (June 2004) in a three-day seminar (conducted by Mr. Kent's business) attended by all sheriff's office supervisory staff.

Maybe this time it will be taken to heart?
