Joseph David Wethington, 66, resident of Clark Fork, Idaho, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2007, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Services will be held in Athens, Ill., on Friday, June 8, 2007. Full military honors will be held at a later date.

Joe was born on May 4, 1941, in Petersburg, Ill., to Joseph and Anna (Ferguson) Wethington. He attended schools in Athens. Mr. Wethington served his country in the United States Air Force, receiving an honorable discharge.

After the service he worked in construction in the Petersburg area building homes.

He served the community of Petersburg for many years as a deputy sheriff retiring in 1998.

Joe married Sandra Carlton on Dec. 29, 1999, in Sedro Woolley, Wash. The couple moved to Clark Fork in 2000.

Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Wethington of Clark Fork, Idaho; his mother, Anna Wethington of Athens, Ill.; a son, Mark (Michelle) Wethington of Petersburg, Ill.; a daughter, Dani Wethington, and grandson Ryder Wethington of Springfield, Ill.; a brother, Bob Wethington of Petersburg; three sisters, Carol Himebaugh of Rockford, Mich., Dorothy Miller of San Antonio, Texas, and Marilyn Kirkton of Gridley, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his father Joseph.
