Ralph 'Duane' Hadley, 82

Ralph "Duane" Hadley, 82, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2007 at Spirit Lake, Idaho.

Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Duane was born on December 14, 1924 in Sandpoint, Idaho, the son of Ralph and Ethel (Garrison) Hadley. He grew up in Sandpoint and attended local schools before enlisting in the U. S. Army during World War II.

He married Jean (Bergstrom) Rush on May 19, 1956 and lived in Sandpoint, working for the U.S. Forest Service for 30 years, retiring in 1979.

Duane enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, gardening, fishing, camping in the 5th wheel and many years of skiing with Jean at Schweitzer.

He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sandpoint, serving as an elder and deacon.

Survivors include: His wife, Jean Hadley; sons Don (Denice) Hadley of Spokane, Wash., Scott (Jackie) Hadley of Athol, Idaho; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother Glen (Donna) Hadley of Plains, Mont.; sister Margaret Stevens of Sandpoint; Lucille (Bob) Allen of Sandpoint; and sister-in-law Ann Hadley of Bakersfield, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ethel Hadley; a brother Raymond, and his sister, Eileen Baldwin.
