Badgers fall to Indians

MERIDIAN — A rough shooting night doomed Bonners Ferry as they fell 56-45 to Buhl in the second round of the 3A state basketball tournament in Meridian.

The Badgers (19-5) made only 24 percent of their shots, finishing 14-58 from the field for the game. They struggled from behind the arc, making just four of thier 22 attempts. Good defense kept them in the game, as the Buhl Indians (20-4) finally put the game away in the fourth quarter.

A.J. Bennett led the Badgers with 12 points and eight rebounds, Josh Hawks added eight and six, and Jesus Mendez had four points, five rebounds and two steals in defeat.

Bonners Ferry will play Snake River today in the consolation bracket.
