Mrs. Kedish taught elementary school for more than 20 years in Bonner County and retired in 1982.

Even though she retired from teaching she certainly did not slow down in her other interests. Betty was very active in the Bonner County Senior Citizens and Kappa Kappa Gamma. One of her great loves was helping to establish scholarships for high school students in her area; as well as being involved in numerous other charities. She was also a long time member of the Eagles in both Sandpoint, Idaho, and Hayden, Idaho.

Betty married Jacob Paul Kedish in 1942 and they settled in Sandpoint before moving to Priest Lake where they lived until Mr. Kedish died in 1976. At that time Betty moved back to Sandpoint until finally moving to Hayden in 2002 where she has remained. She also became active in the Hayden Senior Citizens where she loved to play cards.

Survivors include her four children, son Wayne Kedish and his wife Sherry of Clancy, Mont., daughter Janet Bartenhagen and David Nitcy of Harrison, ID, daughter Helen Moon and husband Paul of Glide, Ore., and son Edwin Kedish of Spokane. Two sisters, Joyce Finley and Jean Miller both of Hayden, and two brothers, Arlie Kellogg of Sandpoint and Danny Kellogg. Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive her.

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Hayden Senior Citizens Center in Hayden.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Yates Funeral Home in Hayden, Idaho, and burial will follow at noon at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint.
