West girls get East in All-Star action
Poston named game MVP with 19 points
MULLAN — Bonners Ferry senior Kaitie Poston had a game-high 19 points as the West Stars shined over the East All-Stars in the annual District 1 All-Star Game at the Mullan Pavilion.
Both teams came out cold from the field, with the West taking a 12-6 lead after the first quarter.
The East would rally to tie the game at 12-12, but would get outscored 13-0 in the remainder of the second quarter to go up 25-12 at halftime.
At the half of the girls game, Wallace senior Cara Hayman made 9 of 10 three-pointers to claim the Three-Point championship for 2007.
In the second half, the West would continue to pull away as they close the game with a 56-45 win on Friday. Hayman hit a half-court shot at the final buzzer for the East.
Lisa Carver led the East in scoring with 12 points.
