Pearson, Snow lead Bulldog golfers
LEWISTON — Wyatt Pearson and Bonnie Snow turned in impressive performances for the second consecutive week, leading their teams at the Lewiston Invite Monday at Brydan Canyon Golf Course in Lewiston.
Pearson was one stroke better than a week ago, and Snow was the same, a great accomplishment considering the course was quite a bit tougher than last week.
"For him to do that back to back tournament I was pleasantly surprised," said boys coach Mike Keough. "It really boosted his confidence. Last year he was fighting for a spot, now he's leading the team."
Girls coach Jim Alsager was equally impressed with Snow's second 93, noting the course was 5-8 shots tougher than last Monday at Clarkston.
"She's hitting the ball well," he said. "She had a couple of tough putting holes that kept her out of the 80s."
Michelle Stone shot a 113 to help the Bulldogs to a fifth place finish out of nine teams.

? Bulldog baseball team falls in season opening doubleheader
Sandpoint lost 8-1 to Richland, and 12-2 to Kamiakin as they opened their season Saturday in the Tri-Cities.
Tavo Rivas hit a two-run homer, and freshman Ben Fisher had an RBI double to provide the highlights for the young Bulldogs.
"Inexperience was a definite factor," said Givens, "Out of pitching, hitting and defense, you must have two of three; we had zero of three."
Bulldog pitchers walked 17 batters in the two games, and their hitters struck out 17 times, not surprising considering how young the Bulldogs are and how little field time they've had. Givens believes there is ample room for improvement.
"The kids are enthusiastic and eager to learn," he said. "We just need to play them one at a time and get better."
Sandpoint is at Lakeland today, and at Coeur d'Alene on Wednesday.
