SHS competes in track meet

POST FALLS — Megan Bartlett (3,200 meters), Brooke DeMers (high jump) and Jordan Hurley (discus) all took second place as the girls finished seventh at the Christian Finney track meet in Post Falls on Friday.

Brittany Groenhout, Candace Fournier, Krista Babin and Desi Hutchings finished third in the 4 X 100 relay, less than half a second off the leaders. Christina Miller finished fourth in the 800 meters, seven seconds off the winning time.

Will Andrews finished third in the discus and sixth in the shot put to lead the boys team, which finished last among the eight teams competing.

Luke Peters, Josh Kopsa, Kurt Stoll and Tyler Jinright finished third in the 4 X 100, less than half a second of the winning time.

It was the first meet of the year for Sandpoint. They travel to Lewiston next Thursday for their next meet.
