| March 26, 2007 9:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE — Jenna DeLong struck out 12 Sandpoint batters and allowed no walks in a perfect game win over the Bulldogs in softball action Monday.

Lauren Horton collected two RBIs on the day, first with a sacrifice bunt and then a single in her next time up.

Lindsey Stark, Danielle Erickson and Katy Rossner all hit doubles for the Vikings (6-0, 4-0 IEL).

"Jenna was hitting all of her spots, and she defnintley dominted today," Doeur d'Alene assistant coach Melissa MeKenna said. "She had a great fastball and she knows when to use her changeup.

McKenna said DeLong kept the Bulldog hitter guessing by working all around the strike zone. Sara Murphy went the distance in the loss.

Sandpoint (0-4, 0-4) is at Lakeland in a big 4A game after an early spate of games against top 5A IEL teams.

? Bulldogs split with Moscow in weekend doubleheader

MOSCOW — Tyler Lichty and Cory Hawkins had big games at the plate as Sandpoint beat Moscow 14-4 in the first of two baseball games Saturday in Moscow.

Lichty went 3-5, with a homer, double and three rbi, and Hawkins was 3-4 with a double and three rbi. Hawkins also picked up the win, as he and Dustin Hawkins combined to hold the Bears to only three hits. Woody Hawkins called the game behind the plate for the all-Hawkins battery.

Sophomore Cole Tonnemacher had a three-run double and also pitched well in extended relief of Ricky Stewart as the Bulldogs gave up four first inning runs before falling 6-4 in the second game.

Bulldogs' coach Mike Givens was happy with how his team played against one of the two teams (Lakeland the other) they will need to beat to get to state again.

"The bats are coming around. The kids are swinging the bat more aggressively," said Givens. "We left too many guys on base. We got the guys on base, we just couldn't get the key hit."

Sandpoint is at Lake City today.
