Albert 'Wayne' Bellamy, 88
Albert "Wayne" Bellamy, 88, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 28, 2007.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel, 109 N. Division Ave, Sandpoint, Idaho. Pastor Jon Pomeroy, First Church of God (Anderson), will officiate with interment in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Friends may call on Monday afternoon, April 2, 2007; from 1-6 p.m., at Coffelt Funeral Service.
Wayne was born in Kootenai, Idaho, on Jan. 8, 1919, the son of Albert and Susan Bellamy. He graduated from the eighth grade at the Kootenai School and Sandpoint High School in 1938. On June 7, 1940, he and Irma Colpaert were married in Sandpoint.
In 1942, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and was stationed in the North Pacific. He patrolled the Pacific Coast and saw action in the Aleutians.
Following the war he returned to Sandpoint, going to work for the highway department. In 1949 he went to work for McFarland Pole Company. He retired from McFarland's in 1980 as a treating engineer.
Wayne enjoyed woodworking in his shop at home, taking great pride in his yard and garden. He also loved his family and stream fishing.
He is survived by his son, Al Bellamy of Spokane, Wash.; two grandchildren, Dean Bellamy of Spokane and Julie Leliefeld of Loon Lake, Wash.; and three great-grandchildren, Brooke, Brenna, and Hunter; and two sisters, Letha Hammer of Yakima, Wash.; and Ruth Kohler of Kootenai, Idaho.
His parents and his wife Irma preceded him in death.
