Video camera available for filmmaker's use
Dear Mr. Daarstad:
There appears to be some confusion over the video equipment. The intent was for you to return the city equipment so that staff could record the comprehensive plan meetings as an historical record. There is certainly no reason you could not check it out to continue your interviews any time the equipment is not in use.
The reason I asked for it to be returned is that I did not want to impose on you to do the filming. If you would care to volunteer to tape the meetings, then the equipment could remain with you as it has the past several years. The next meeting is Thursday, May 3, and we expect about a dozen meetings during the next year. This might be good material for a documentary.
The city of Sandpoint greatly appreciates and deeply respects your work in recording the histories of our residents. There was never the intent to bring that to a halt. If that is the impression, then I apologize for not communicating better.
RAYMOND P. MILLER,
Sandpoint mayor
