Hawks edge Bulldogs 8-6

RATHDRUM — Lakeland erased a one-run Sandpoint lead with a five-run fourth inning to beat the Bulldogs in the final 4A Inland Empire League game of the season.

Lakeland ace Jamie Klopatek pitched four innings in relief, striking out 11 of 23 batters faced, including three in the third and three in the fourth inning.

She also doubled twice for the Hawks (8-16, 4-12 IEL), who will play the Bulldogs (5-18, 0-16) in the first round of the 4A Region 1 tournament Tuesday.

Kim Guercio and Stephanie Ferguson had two hits apiece for Sandpoint and Amanda North had a triple for Lakeland.
