Bonner General celebrates National Hospital Week

| May 8, 2007 9:00 PM

People go to hospitals for many different reasons. To be healed, to find out what's wrong, to get treatment, to give birth, and yes, even to die.

There are many facets to hospital care, each just as important as the next. From the housekeeper who keeps the floors in the operating room gleaming and sanitary to the doctors and nurses who performs a surgery there, all contribute to the health and well-being of our patients.

May 6-12 is National Hospital Week, a week designated to honor the people who make America's hospitals the best in the world. Here at Bonner General, we celebrate National Hospital Week to honor our employees, who work so hard to give excellent care each and every day.

"Our employees are the heart of BGH," said Bonner General CEO Sheryl Rickard. "Every day they demonstrate amazing compassion and dedication to our patients, our hospital and our community."

This year's theme for National Hospital Week is "Care you count on. People you trust." Our community does count on Bonner General. It's where we go when our child needs stitches, our knee needs replacing, our children and grandchildren are born. We go there to visit loved ones, neighbors and friends who have fallen ill.

We may be apprehensive, excited, angry, or downright scared when we enter the doors of the hospital.

It is up to the people who work here to soothe us, offer us comfort and compassion, and to help us understand when the world doesn't quite seem fair.

Trust is something that has to be earned. Bonner General Hospital is proud of the trust our community has is our services and the people who work here. This trust is something we do not take lightly.

In the ever-changing world of health care, technology and medical advances are important aspects of patient care. But it is the people who wield the tools that make our hospital a place for caring as well as healing.

Bonner General Hospital would like to thank all of its employees for their outstanding service to our community.
