If you talk the talk, then walk the walk
Regarding Lloyd Wallace's letter of May 3, in which he infers Al Gore is a hypocrite.
Mr. Wallace references passages from the Bible that express his opinion of a loving God in control of essentially everything.
Seems to me, however, Wallace is just not paying attention to what is happening in the world today.
I have observed that many Christians like to claim the Ten Commandments (from Moses in the Jewish Old Testament part of the Bible) but few actually live accordingly. Maybe more attention should be given to the Beatitudes (New Testament, Matthew, Chapter 5) but then would there be anyone "walking the talk?"
One more thing, Mr. Wallace. Doesn't your Bible have something about "judge not?" (Try Matthew 7:1). Who is the hypocrite?
Maybe it doesn't really matter since there are so many who claim to be Christians who are ready and eager to select marginally appropriate passages from the Bible to make their point. I have long felt that the belief of many Christians is that "Jesus died for my sins so I can do anything and it will be forgiven." (At least in Heaven)!
NOTE: A special reference to our "decider" in chief.
