We deserve better than corrupt administration

| May 19, 2007 9:00 PM

The drip, drip, drip continues for the Bush Administration. Just as a reminder, let me list a few earlier tidbits.

In September 2005, Michael "Brownie" Brown-fired for incompetence.

In February 2006, Claude Allen, resigned from his White House job after being charged with shoplifting. Did you know that Bush nominated him for an appeals court judgeship in 2003?

In June 2006, David Safavian, friend of Abramoff and chief of staff at the General Services Adm., convicted of lying and obstruction of justice.

In November 2006, Donald Rumsfeld fired for incompetence.

In February 2007, Walter Reed Army Hospital exposed as a menace to our troops.

In March 2007, Scooter Libby convicted of lying and obstruction of justice.

Then there is Attorney General Gonzales and the US Attorney firings where we find out that the AG expects us to buy the "I know nothing" defense.

What about Paul Wolfowitz? Didn't he use his position to enable his lady friend to get a big raise?

Last week, Randall Tobias, deputy secretary of state overseeing global AIDS funding, admitted to using an escort service and resigned.

On May 2 it was reported that Julie MacDonald, the deputy assistant secretary of Interior responsible for the endangered species program had altered scientific conclusions and provided non-public material to lobbyists. She resigned.

Then there is the incompetent, some say criminal, handling of the war in Iraq.

Is this the most corrupt and incompetent government this country has ever had? Don't we deserve better?
