BGH welcomes Performance Physical Therapy

| May 22, 2007 9:00 PM

Bonner General Hospital is expanding our rehabilitation family of services yet again. Performance Physical Therapy and Hand Center will open in the new Medical Village in Ponderay on May 29.

This newest division of Bonner General Hospital joins two other off-site rehabilitation clinics serving Bonner County.

In Sandpoint, Performance Physical Therapy Sports and Orthopedics Center opened last year to serve the growing needs of our community.

In Priest River, Performance Therapy Services offers comprehensive physical, occupational and speech therapy services for those who live in the west end of Bonner County.

Performance Physical Therapy and Hand Center of Ponderay will help to better serve the needs of those who commute from the north and east ends of the county. Their highly trained staff of professionals includes Yvonne Savarise, PT, DPT and Julie Yeo, MSPT.

The newest clinic will offer full rehabilitation services, specializing in patients with orthopedic diagnoses and industrial injuries, with an emphasis on spine, neck and hand therapy.

Every year, more and more people move to our area. Serving the needs of people locally is becoming more necessary as the population increases throughout our county and into western Montana.

Savarise has more than 13 years of experience in physical therapy and recently completed her doctorate degree from the University of Utah. Completing this degree has not only kept her current within her profession, but has improved her physical therapy skills to better assess and treat patients utilizing evidence-based therapy. When she's not working, you'll find Savarise on her bike or skis.

Julie Yeo, MSPT joins the Performance Physical Therapy and Hand Center from Michigan, where she attended Andrews University. She is looking forward to living here in North Idaho where she can pursue favorite activities like hiking, camping and biking.

Savarise and Yeo will bring their unique interests, experience and perspectives to the Ponderay location.

"Our goal is not to just address the client' symptoms," Savarise says, "but to provide them with a comprehensive assessment identifying the anatomical compromise which leads to their condition."

A personalized treatment program will then be developed to include the modalities, skilled manual techniques and exercises necessary to eliminate symptoms.

Performance Physical Therapy and Hand Center is located in the new Medical Village in Ponderay at 30544 Hwy. 200.
