SANDPOINT — Sandra Burnett has opened Sandy's Sugar Shack at Cedar Street Bridge Public Market.
The old-fashion 1950s ice cream parlor offers milkshakes, banana splits, root beer floats, sundaes homemade waffle cones and fudge, Thelma's Lemonade and huckleberry lemonade.
Sandy's Sugar Shack features a black and white checkered floor, old fashion chrome tables and chairs, and a mirror with glass shelves and antiques.
The ice cream parlor has six full- and part-time employees and opens at 10 a.m. daily.
This is Burnett's first attempt with this type of business. In retail for 35 years, she owned an antique store in Brenham, Texas. Burnett is a native of Lewiston and moved to Sandpoint three years ago.
