Ervin Gene Galloway, 81, passed away in Post Falls, Idaho on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel.
Friends may call to pay their respects on Friday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. until service time at Coffelt Funeral Service.
Ervin was born in Rosetta, Idaho, on May 18, 1926, the son of Thomas and Sylvia Galloway. In 1943, he graduated from high school in Lapwai, Idaho, and then joined the U.S. Marine Corps.
During World War II he saw action in the Pacific and China.
On Jan. 19, he married Clara Belle Crabb in Vay, Idaho. He worked as a sawmill millwright for Louisiana Pacific in Chilco, Idaho; Trout Creek, Mont.; and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
He lived in the HooDoo Valley and Coeur d'Alene at that time, retiring in 1991 and moving to Marlin, Wash.
He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Sagle, Idaho.
He enjoyed gardening and making small tables and benches for the grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Clara Belle Galloway of Post Falls; four sons, Ralph (and Frances) Galloway of Cataldo, Idaho, Bert (and Lorena) Galloway of Priest River, Idaho, Joe (and Debbi) Galloway of Odessa, Wash., and Bill (and Sherry) Galloway of Cocolalla, Idaho; three daughters, Alice Birch of Post Falls, and Peggy Christensen and Barbara Galloway, both of Spokane, Wash.; 31 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and and two great-great-grandchildren.; and his brother, Orlin Galloway of Coeur d'Alene.
His parents, a brother, Joe; two sisters, Daisy and Evelyn; five grandchildren and four great-grandsons preceded him in death.
