Eliminate incumbents, elect political leaders

| November 7, 2007 8:00 PM

I'll start this off with a question. Why are you so-called political leaders having so much trouble voting on money to support our troops in this war on terror? All I see on the TV news is you spending a lot of time on photo shoots, voting on your pay raises or perks and taking turns going over to Iraq sticking you nose into something you know nothing about.

To start the ball rolling, I got the answer and if I had the power to institute it I would do it in a heart beat. I would order every last one of you to report to the military and draw your equipment (equipment that's available now) and ship out to Iraq. Once there you are to be the driver of an unarmored Hummer on night patrol. You will do this for six months (if you live that long) in an area that the kill rate is high. Don't worry about being away from Washington for that six months because you aren't getting anything done anyhow.

Think about it. If this could be a reality, I bet it wouldn't take 20 minutes to approve the funding. To all you Washington deadbeat politicians, raise your hand if any of you have lost a family member close relative or even had one injured in Iraq or Afghanistan. Hmmm.

If your hand is up, I send you my condolences. I don't remember hearing about any such loss.

My fellow countrymen, we need change in Washington, vote out all incumbents and send all of those antiques home and demand action from the new breed. If only John Wayne were alive.
