Daily Bee needs to apologize to family

| November 19, 2007 8:00 PM

After reading your article in the Nov. 8 Bonner County Daily Bee, I would ask that Marlisa Keyes be reprimanded or fired after the incorrect comments that she made in her front-page article.

She has quotes of Mark Stevens for being at the meeting and saying he was a self-described former drug user.

This is absolutely unacceptable to have this type of inaccurate reporting. First of all, mark was not even at the town meeting and he has never used drugs.

I expect or demand an immediate front-page correct and apology to Mark Stevens that this reporting was inaccurate and a huge mistake was made on Marlisa Keyes' part. Marlisa needs to step up to the plate and admit her erroneous error.

She obviously did not have her facts right and the fact that she printed it without checking the facts is absolutely unaccpetable.

I do know that the people who know Mark will not believe a word of this horrible story, but there are people who will hold on to what is said and run with it like a terrible rumor. People like to spread rumors and wow, if the paper says it, then it must be true.

Again, I expect a front-page correction and apology to Mark Stevens for this erroneous error.
