Earl William Rice, 77, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel. Dale Coffelt will be conducting the services.

Earl was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Sept. 15, 1930. In 1949 he graduated from high school, in Philadelphia, and joined the U.S. Air Force. He saw action in Korea and other areas.

He made his home in Chewelah, Wash., until 1966 when he moved to Sandpoint. He worked as a salesman, traveling and selling electrical supplies for Tubb's Electric out of Spokane, Wash. He worked as a parts man for Dockin's Tractor and Supply and later sold furniture for Furniture Exchange. His last job was selling electrical supplies for Crescent Electric, retiring in 1993.

Earl enjoyed the outdoors, gold panning, and fishing. He had served as a range master for the rifle range on Baldy Mountain Road.

He is survived by four children, Steven E (and LeAnn) Rice of Spokane, Wash., Darilyn Krupp of Lacey, Wash., Ben (and Dawn) Rice of Sandpoint, and Rusty (and Rochelle) Rice of Vancouver, Wash.; eight grandchildren and three great-grand children.

His parents and a sister preceded him in death.
