LEWISTON — Sandpoint's Joey Lovell, a sophomore on the Lewis-Clark State College golf team, is continuing where he left off last year, when he had one of the best freshman seasons in the history of the program.

Lovell was named the Freshman of the Year in the Frontier Conference last season, and was also an All-Frontier Conference first team selection. He was the team's top scorer in every spring meet, helping lead the Warriors to the conference title.

This year, he's been the team's top scorer in all three fall events, including a scorching season-low 66.

Lovell is considering careers in both business administration or secondary education.
