Term, story's publication were simply appalling

| October 13, 2007 9:00 PM

I was appalled by the front-page story printed in the Daily Bee on Oct. 9, 2007 titled "Prank has serious consequences …"

First, I agree with another reader that this crime should not have been termed a "prank." An "infamous crime against nature" is certainly not a prank. Second, the article should simply NOT have been printed in your newspaper. The Daily Bee is distributed to schools throughout Sandpoint.

Do you consider it appropriate to feature — on the front page, no less — a story about a man to do what he did while the person was passed out? Is this something young schoolchildren should be reading? No. If, for some reason, you felt this crime required newspaper coverage, the story should not have been on the front page and the writer should have left out the offending information.

Please, please, think about your readers and choose your wording and information more carefully.
