Help Hospice fundraiser bloom
How about a dozen roses?
For the past 10 years, Hospice has sold roses to raise funds for this organization that guides patients and families through the inevitable.
Hospice volunteers are out in force and for only $20, you could make someone's day.
As explained in a Sunday Bee story, funds raised by this sale go to "families who do not have assets or insurance for necessary extras," said Kathryn Cooke, a volunteer coordinator for Hospice. The money has been used for purchasing airline tickets for family members to say goodbye, wheelchair ramps and air conditioners for trailer homes.
Hospice is an important resource in our community. Debra Kellerman, the director, has done a great job with the legions of volunteers who give Hospice a personal touch.
If you are looking to make someone's day, help a great cause and feel good doing it, the rose sale might be just the ticket.
Please call the "Rose Hotline" at 265-4402 or the BGH switchboard soon to order your roses. The roses will be distributed Nov. 9 in Sandpoint, Bonners Ferry and Priest River.
