'Free North Idaho'
After watching the news lately, a thought occurred to me. No one I am talking to thinks our government is doing a good job. Going even farther, they think that the people in government are not representing us. "The people in government are only interested in themselves." Our senator (Mr. Soft Shoe) is a typical example.
After some contemplation, I realized that our government has chosen not to enforce our immigration laws (and many others), and in some areas have gone so far as to give illegals more rights than those of us who are trying to be upstanding citizens. Over one fourth of our prison population are illegals.
The government continually tells us they cannot find and deport all the illegals. Why? The politicians buy votes of the uninformed by giving over 40 percent of our country some sort of income they do not earn. The system cannot change. There is no motivation for anyone in or out of the system to do so within the system.
A group of men once wrote about government "whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness."
Since this government is too big to change, and, since our so-called representatives are not doing what we ask them to, I see no alternative but to support succession from the union. I support the free country of "North Idaho."
