Bonner County failed to investigate charges

| October 22, 2007 9:00 PM

In the interest of journalistic accuracy, I am responding to the errors and omissions in the Bee's coverage of my continuing saga with Bonner County law.

First, I have never desired the state to cease prosecution of the suspect for the serious crimes I have alleged have been committed against me. The prosecutor chose to bury the very serious report of the May 15 incident, and to proceed lackadaisically with a watered down charge of disturbing the peace. When I requested the report of the May 15 incident, I was informed by Prosecutor Phil Robinson that it was "under investigation" by the ISP.

Not according to Captain Rollins of the ISP, who forwarded me a letter from the prosecutor requesting he not get involved, and that the sheriff was investigating. However, not one single witness was ever contacted, and the license plate numbers I offered of potential witnesses were refused by the sheriff's deputies. Months later, after I left Idaho, the report was finally released to me. It is replete with lies, and is contradicted by all witness reports.

I left Idaho in some fear, following a break-in to my home in July. Deputy Aaron Flynn refused to even come out. I am now working as a reporter in Oregon, and do not wish to re-visit the scene of such upheaval for a watered-down charge where Bonner County law has again evidenced profound disinterest in my welfare and not contacted one witness.
