Hellar has experience that city's voters need

| October 24, 2007 9:00 PM

With the election of our mayor so near, I hope your readers will take time to become acquainted with Gretchen Hellar, the longtime resident and community activist whom I strongly support in what may be the most important election in Sandpoint's history.

Just look at Gretchen's background as businesswoman, educator and community activist. It's all clearly presented at her Web site, www.gretchenhellar.com. This is the type of person a growing community like Sandpoint needs to help us meet the many challenges of the future. This is the type of leader we must have if we are to strengthen police and fire services, focusing on prevention and community relations; if we are to improve our parks, roads, bike paths and sidewalks to serve our residents; if we are to attract the types of businesses and residential developments that will assure jobs and affordable housing for our citizens.

Be sure to vote Nov. 6. But, before you vote, consider carefully the strengths and experience that Gretchen Hellar brings to the voters of Sandpoint.
