Sandpoint needs a different kind of mayor

Despite Ray Miller's contributions as mayor, I believe Sandpoint needs a different kind of leader.

Our town is growing and changing fast. In order to preserve our downtown, unique neighborhoods and way of life, we need to more fully tap the extraordinary skills and talents we have here. Therefore, we need a mayor who gathers input, works openly and cooperatively with City Council, moves to action and partners well. This approach produces even stronger results. Gretchen Hellar has these leadership skills.

Also, like it or not, byway construction may begin soon. We need a mayor who will keep a close eye on ITD, protecting downtown, making certain that disruptions to traffic are minimized and vigorously protecting our lake's water quality.

On both fronts, we need Gretchen Hellar at the helm.
