Anti-Bird group should join neighborhood team

| October 29, 2007 9:00 PM

The Bonner County Planning and Zoning Commission approved the modification of special use permit recently for Drs. Forrest and Pam Bird. This occurred after many, many citizens from here and across the United States gave strong supporting statements for approval of the modification.

We should be extremely proud that the favorable outcome prevailed and that we can go on with the wonderful contributions that the Bird legacy will leave for us all to use. The Bids have been more than just generous to everyone who comes into their lives. They have given willingly of their time and resources. It is time, now, to give back to them in gratitude, support and friendship as the future unfolds.

Approximately 30 years ago, an organization titled the Gamlin Lake-Glengary Bay Protective Association was formed. It was an organization that attempted to destroy everything that Dr. Bird attempted to do. There is still evidence of some of that negativism from that old organization that still exists. It is time for them to "surrender" and abandon the anti-Bird attitudes that destroyed the unity of the neighborhood. The former members should join the neighborhood team now and show support for the wonderful contributions that Drs. Forrest and Pam Bird are making to our world today.

Thank you again, Pam and Forrest.
