Alta Marie Vincent, 66

Alta Marie Vincent, 66, peacefully passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007 in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at the Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Neuder officiating. Burial will follow at the Pinecrest Cemetery. Please wear her favorite color, purple, to celebrate her life.

Alta was born Feb. 19, 1941 in Gregory, S.D., to Lawrence and Martha Adams. She grew up and attended schools in Kimberly, Idaho.

Alta married Charles "Chuck" Vincent on Oct. 19, 1957, in Twin Falls, Idaho.

The family moved to Sandpoint in 1976.

Alta has worked at Merwin's True Value Hardware since 1982.

During her employment she acquired numerous friendships with co-workers and customers.

Alta's life was a testimony of sacrifice, always giving to others. She was the mother and grandmother only few could dream about. Her tender heart and compassion for others was unspeakable.

Alta enjoyed cooking (always trying out new recipes), working in her yard, and having family gatherings. Her most recent love in life was spending time with her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Curtis (Sally) Vincent of Sandpoint; four daughters, Lori (Jim) Eddings of Sagle, Idaho, Cherie (Brett) Moore of Sandpoint, Janine (Bob) Lichty of Cocolalla, Idaho, and Melinda (Mark) Hoekema of Newman Lake, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clifford Adams of Pennsylvania and Larry (Sheryl) Adams of Kimberly, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chuck Vincent in 2000, and grandson Steven Bryant in 2003.
