We need leaders with moral fiber, character
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck.
I've waited to write about Larry Craig until there was more information about the situation, but I'll say this: If he isn't gay, he's given a good imitation of it. If he was innocent when arrested, why would he plead guilty to a misdemeanor — whatever that was? Wouldn't you expect a heterosexual man to outrageously deny an accusation of being gay instead of paying a fine and trying to cover it up?
The arresting officer said, "Embarrassing. Embarrassing. No wonder we're going down the tubes." My sentiments also; only it's worse than embarrassing that an important public figure is involved in such conduct. This whole thing goes across party lines. It makes no difference if the person is Republican or Democrat, whether the name is Craig or Clinton, Foley or Franks, or if it's a politician with $80,000 of bribe money stashed in his freezer. We need leaders with integrity. The offense Senator Craig and some of these others are accused of is an act that God saw as so disgusting and evil, He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of it. But we have been brainwashed into showing "tolerance" for so many things we shouldn't. God's patience is not endless.
What we need is a spiritual awakening in government and religious leaders, and in lay people or we are "going down the tubes." We need leaders with moral fiber and the courage of their convictions … a Teddy Roosevelt or a Ronald Reagan, but I don't see any waiting in the wings.
