Traffic pressure is pushing out tourists

| September 3, 2007 9:00 PM

The business people of downtown Sandpoint seem to be worried that the U.S. Highway 95 bypass will take business away from this area.

There is another way to look at this.

A lot of tourists may want to stop as they are passing through, but look in their mirror and see traffic pushing them. A bypass could relieve this. Tourists could drive slower to allow them time to see what this area has to offer.

Downtown has many interesting shops. However, you can't tell because you can't see them for all the traffic.
