Lumbermens purchases Idaho-based Alpine Lumber Supply

SANDPOINT — Lumbermens, Inc. reached an agreement Friday to purchase Alpine Lumber Supply's two North Idaho facilities.

Terms of the sale, which is expected to close Monday, were not disclosed.

Alpine Lumber Supply, a supplier of building materials, has two yards — one in Sandpoint and the other in Post Falls and Sandpoint. to area eastern Washington and North Idaho builders, contractors and local retail customers. The company serves both contractor and retail segments.

Lumbermens, a division of Pro-Build Holdings, operates in Spokane, Boise and McCall.

The purchase of Alpine supports the company's continued expansion in the Eastern Washington / Northern Idaho markets.

"Strategically, Alpine is an excellent fit for Lumbermens," Dave Dittmer, Pro-Build west region president, said. "Alpine's contractor focus as well as its retail expertise compliments our existing presence in both of these markets. Lumbermens looks forward to welcoming the Alpine employees into our Lumbermens family."

After completion of the sale, both Alpine locations will operate as Lumbermens.

Alpine Lumber Supply was founded by Robert Myers in Sandpoint in 1978, and has built a strong reputation for experienced, knowledgeable employees. The company, which has 65 employees, opened the Post Falls facility in 1986.

Founded in 1895, Lumbermens operates more than 70 lumberyards, truss plants, millwork facilities and installed services on five Western states.

Pro-Build Holdings is the nation's largest supplier of building materials to contractors. Pro-Build operates more than 500 lumber and building product distribution, manufacturing and assembly centers in 40 states.materials, metal specialties, hardware and tools. The company's manufactured products include trusses, wall panels, millwork, and pre-hung door and window fabrication.
