Homer Earl Brewer, 97

Homer Earl Brewer, 97, of Cottonwood Creek passed away Sept. 15, 2007, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Steve and Roxie Luoma on Cottonwood Creek , where he has lived for the past 7 years. Homer was born in Taber, Ky., on Sept. 18, 1909, to Melvin Brewer and Lou Edith (Coldiron) Brewer. He moved to West Virginia as a young boy with his parents. He married Maggie Jane Lowe Sept. 18, 1935. Maggie died Jan. 12, 2000. Homer was a mailman for a short time. He worked for the C and O Railroad where he retired. He moved his family to Idaho in 1964. He worked for LCSC where he retired again. He is survived by his children, Juanita and Liston Hedrick, Melvin and Delories Brewer, Bernice Stone, Hazel and Jimmy Smith, Sam and Edie Brewer, Todd and Shirley Brewer, Everette Brewer, Marge and Dan Beck, George and Barb Brewer, Virginia and Jerry Kriegel, Ruby and Tom Sherman, Roxie and Steve Luoma, Taylor and Linda Brewer; one sister, Jessie Fowler; one brother, Orville Williamson; 40 grandchildren; 92 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie; daughter, Stella; 16 brothers and sisters; numerous grandchildren.He leaves behind his legacy for God and his family. Viewing will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Vassar-Rawls Funeral home. The funeral will be Saturday, 2 p.m. with viewing prior from 1:15-2 p.m. at the Plummer Community Center, graveside service to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Plummer.Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
