Zero Point collecting shoppers' interest in crystals

SANDPOINT - If, like many people around the word, you believe in the healing power of crystals and gems, then you will feel right at home at Zero Point.

With a vast selection of stones, crystals and gems in all sizes and shapes, as well as jewelry and an assortment of native American art, Zero Point is one-stop shopping for the metaphysically-inclined as well as the casual shopper.

Owner Kathy Friedmann's interest in stones and crystals began as a child in Michigan, where she collected rocks from the shores of Lake Michigan.

Her collection grew and grew until the most reasonable choice was to open a store of her own, Friedmann said.

Friedmann believes in the positive energy that comes from crystals, and she loves sharing that energy with other people.

“It's Mother Nature at her best,” she said. “These are all natural and absolutely amazing.”

While much of her stock comes from exotic locations like India, Pakistan and various South American countries, Friedmann also carries items that originated closer to home, like Montana sapphires.

Friedmann plans to eventually expand her stock to include books and CDs, but for now she is happy with what she has.

Located at 330 North First, Zero Point is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
