Ayres V. Henry, 76, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2008 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2008, at the New Song Bible Church in Sagle, Idaho.

Ayres was born on March 22, 1932, in Yakima, Wash., the son of Alfred and Eleanor (Bradbury) Henry. He grew up and attended schools in Yakima, joining the U.S. Navy following high school graduation.

He served aboard the USS Rochester during the Korean War from 1950-1954. Following his enlistment, he worked as a maintenance engineer for Boeing, Johnson World Services and Fred Meyer. He also worked as a mechanic for Norlift in Spokane, Wash.

Ayres moved to Sagle in 1997. His hobbies included Bible study, reading, hiking, kayaking, research, inventing and projects of all kinds. He loved dogs, tolerated cats, elephants and deer.

He also loved roses and dandelions because he said, “They are just dandy.”

Survivors include his wife, Robin; three sons, Aaron, Kyle and Matthew; one daughter, Andrea; five grandchildren, Tierney, Galen, Elan, Jamie and Morgan;, and his sister Barbara. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Loren.
