Charles 'Allen' Felts, 78
Charles “Allen” Felts, 78, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2008, at his home in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.
Allen was born on Jan. 8, 1930, in Dalhart, Texas, the son of Luther and Augusta (Ironmonger) Felts. He grew up in Dalhart and attended local schools. Allen enlisted in the U.S. Navy following his graduation from high school and was stationed in Alaska.
He moved to Sandpoint in 1949 and worked clearing land until 1961. He then went to work for Pacific Gas Transmis-sion as a mechanic retiring in 1992. Allen later went back to work for PGT for another four years as a gas pipeline inspector, and then retired to his farm in Oden. He was noted around the area for rebuilding old antique tractors and vehicles.
Allen married Jeanne Bircher in 1971 in Sandpoint and they raised two sons at their Oden home. Together they traveled to Europe, Mexico and Panama several times. Allen could fix anything mechanical and his work was meticulous with old tractors and vehicles.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Felts of Sandpoint; a daughter, Glenda Felts of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; sons, John (Kim) Felts of Spokane, Wash., and Keith (Dalys) Felts of Spokane; grandchildren, BBrian, Derrick, Triston and Alexis Felts; a sister, Joy Felts of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a brother, Henry Felts of Careywood, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
