TRESTLE CREEK — A Bonner County woman was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly slashing her husband in the back with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute.

Jeanetta Marie Maddox, 28, is charged with felony domestic violence in the presence of a child. Judge Barbara Buchanan set Maddox’s bail at $75,000 on Wednesday and ordered her to have no contact with her husband.

Maddox’s 46-year-old husband was taken to Bonner General Hospital after the incident. He was treated for injuries that were not life threatening, Bonner County Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Johnston said in a news release.

Deputies were called to the couple’s Freeman Lane home at about 9 p.m., after dispatchers received a call about a domestic dispute involving a weapon. During the dispute, Maddox allegedly picked up a 13-inch kitchen knife and slashed her husband across the lower back.

The alleged slashing was witnessed by the couple’s 7-year-old child, according to charging papers and the sheriff’s news release.
