Dover Bay community adding bungalows, fitness club
DOVER — It’s been a busy winter at Dover Bay Waterfront Community, according to developer Ralph Sletager, with new home construction, near-completion of a marina village market and café, start-up construction of a new full service fitness club and 19 new beachfront rental bungalows, and surprisingly solid sales activity.
Permits were recently approved to start construction on the new waterfront rental bungalows in the Marina Village at Dover Bay, with concrete work already under way.
“The Beach Front Bungalows will be beautifully appointed rental cabins aimed at bringing more vacationers into Sandpoint and the Dover Bay community,” he said. “We’ve already begun taking summer reservations on the units,” he said. Sletager expects the bungalows to be ready for occupancy by June.
He indicated families renting the bungalows will have full access to Dover Bay’s beaches, biking and jogging trails, marina, and newly completed market and nearly completed restaurant. Waterfront Properties, another of Sletager’s family-owned companies, will handle bookings for the bungalows.
“We’ve also begun construction on the Dover Bay ‘Lake Club Fitness Center,’ Sletager said, “which we anticipate will be one of the area’s nicest health clubs when completed.”
Sletager said Lake Club members will enjoy a fully-equipped weight training facility, elliptical machines and stationary bikes, a year-round outdoor swimming pool and spa overlooking the lake, yoga classes and a full-time fitness and wellness coordinator on site.
In addition to beginning construction of the rental bungalows, the Dover Bay community experienced considerable activity in new home construction over the winter. Sletager indicated four new luxury waterfront homes have been under construction during the winter and are nearing completion.
And thanks to increased demand, Sletager has recently released a number of new waterfront home sites in the West Dover Bay neighborhood. He indicated these were estate-sized home sites with approximately 100 feet of waterfront, premium southern exposure and “breathtaking views.”
“We’re very happy with the continued interest in Dover Bay during the winter,” he said. “We’ve had a steady influx of potential buyers, we’ve closed on a number of condominiums and we’re cautiously looking forward to a busy spring and summer.”
