Guercio had a triple and double among her hits, Rachel Hammack added three hits and Erin Cometto two as the Bulldogs (1-19) finally broke into the win column after several tough losses earlier in the season.

“I’m happy to get our first win, it’s been a long time coming,” said a relieved head coach Derek Dickinson. “We’ve been working hard and I feel good about that. Hopefully we can build a little momentum heading into districts.”

Molly Givens went the distance on the mound, holding the Spartans to only eight hits.

Alicia Schanilec had a home run and two RBIs, and Tricia Desjarlaif had a double and triple to lead the Spartans.
