2008 Career Fair set for Wednesday

| April 28, 2008 9:00 PM

The third annual Career Fair is being held on April 30 at the Bonner County Fairgrounds from noon to 6 p.m.

Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet with 45 businesses representing a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, education, retail, finance, health, public service, restaurants, airlines, hospitality, and more.  The jobs are diverse ranging from full-time and part-time work to contract labor.  Some of the positions sought include program advisors, mangers, bank tellers, skilled mill workers, paramedics, EMTs, sales, administration, bus drivers, custodians, border patrol agents, nurses, care givers, assemblers, electronic technicians, and more.  From entry level to experienced, blue collar to white collar, all persons interested in employment opportunities should come discover what’s available.

“Bring resumes and come prepared as if coming to an interview,” says Amy Little, executive director of the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce.  Businesses will be accepting applications and many will have interviews on the spot.  Last year over 70 people were hired as a direct result of the Career Fair.

“We are pleased to be a part of this endeavor with the Idaho Department of Labor again this year,” says Little.  “We would especially like to thank Litehouse, Horizon Credit Union, Bonner County Daily Bee and 95.3 KPND for their major sponsorship,” she said.  “Without their support, this event would not be possible.”
