Harold E. Ulen, 80

Harold E. Ulen, 80, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Friday, April 25, 2008.

He was born March 10, 1928 in North Dakota. He moved with his family to the Coeur d’Alene area as a child where he grew up and attended schools. He later attended North Idaho College and served in the U.S. Army for four years.

Upon his discharge he returned to the Coeur d’Alene area where he worked as a heavy equipment operator at various sawmills. He later worked for Hank Pondorff as a caretaker.

He married Naomi Louise Farraro and she preceded him in death in 2007.

Harold is survived by four children, Renee (Mike) Megie, Rick Ulen, Joleen Hicks, and Karen ; five stepchildren, including Sharon Warren of Ponderay; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, Stephen and Trevor Eidson, both of Sandpoint; and by a sister, Anne Harris of Vancouver, Wash. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a grandson.
