Time better spent fixing problems than on spying

| August 5, 2008 9:00 PM

I live on the corner of Michigan and Saint Clair. A distant neighbor, Molly O'Reilly, recently photographed my license plate and sent it along with a complaint to both the mayor and police chief.

Does this strike you as offensive or is it just me? This reminds me of the behavior of citizens who live in police states.

All of this is because my car, when parked in my driveway, extends out about one foot. Everyone simply walked behind it while remaining on the sidewalk. No one else had complained about this.

I now park my car out by the curb, unable to use my own driveway. Isn't it illegal to park in the way of the snowplows during winter months?

All of this was done behind my back.

I hope, in the future, that this neighbor's energy will be put to a better use. An example of this would be the removal of knapweed and other toxic plants now growing and spreading in our neighborhood.
