A few thoughts on various topics
Kudos to the Sandpoint Police Department for their pedestrian safety program. Now, if they could only take a 2-by-4 to some of the pedestrians, such as the two teenagers crossing against the red light and trying to make me stop in the middle of the intersection at Second and Cedar.
Is everyone getting tired of all the political wrangling? Let’s stop buying politicians. First, limit campaigning to the 90 days prior to the given election. Then, the political entity involved (federal, state or county) gives each candidate a certain amount of money. They would be allowed to spend this much and no more. Private money, including their own, would be prohibited — no more buying politicians.
I wonder why a certain business vehicle is allowed to park on the wrong side of Third Avenue every day. I heard that someone got a ticket for doing this one time, many years ago.
Did you happen to notice the Subaru Brat in the July 4th parade that proclaimed itself the Idaho State Car? Wonder why it had a Washington license on it?
