Carol J. Kowalski

Former Anchorage, Alaska, resident, Carol J. Kowalski died Aug. 16, 2008, following a short illness in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Mrs. Kowalski was born on July 29, 1932,  in Madison, S.D., to Otto and Ole Hanson. Carol moved to Alaska in 1954 , and married Albert F. “Bud” Kowalski in 1955.

 Carol and Bud moved to Big Lake in 1982 and after spending a couple of winters in the Lower 48, decided to make their home in Florence, Ariz.

Following Bud’s death, Carol moved to Idaho near her daughter.

 Carol was preceded in death by her father and mother and her husband Bud. Her survivors include her three children, Steve Kowalski of Anchorage, Michael Kowalski of Los Angeles, daughter Patti and her husband Steve Nelson of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; grandchildren, Shawn Kowalski and his wife Shelle, and Sean and Ian Kowalski; great-grandchildren, Sutton and Kenley; sisters, Bonnie Wilson of Glennallen, and Mary Lou Morgan and Barbara Andrews-Mee of Anchorage; brother Roy C. Hanson of South Dakota; and several nieces and nephews. Carol had made a wonderful new life for herself here in Sandpoint, thanks to her dear, dear  friends,  Charlie, LaClede, Marion, Vonnie, Julie and Marge. She will be terribly missed.
