Jeanette M. 'Jan' Kice

Former Sandpoint, Idaho, resident Jeanette M. “Jan” Kice passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2008, at home in Port Townsend, Wash., of complications from rheumatoid arthritis.

No services are planned.

She was born Feb. 19, 1943, in Duluth, Minn., the daughter of James and Helen Marie (Walseth) Dunn.

She moved with her family from Minnesota to Sandpoint in 1951, and she attended Northside and Sandpoint High School.

She joined the U.S. Army on graduation, serving from in December 1961 to December 1964 as a medical specialist.

Jan married William L. “Bill” Kice Jr. on Dec. 5, 1970, at Sandpoint Lutheran Church.

Jan worked at the Co-Op gas mart until she had to quit because of rheumatoid Aarthritis.

The couple moved to Port Townsend in 1999.

Her favorite hobbies were music and reading.

Jan was a member of the Sandpoint Nazarene Church.

She is survived by her husband, William L. “Bill” Kice Port Townsend; a son, Neal James Overland of Dover, Idaho; a daughter, Anna Marie Ritchey of Priest River, Idaho; a sister, JoAnn MccGukin of Sandpoint; and three grandchildren.

Kosec Funeral Home and Crematory in Port Townsend is handling the arrangements.
