Event seeks to make holidays merry for all

| December 3, 2008 8:00 PM

I am writing on behalf of the second Free Christmas. You may remember that our family partnered with The Little Church in the Wildwood of Sagle to host the very first Free Christmas last year and it was a great success.

Many members of our community had a part in the event. We had generous donations of gently used, giftable items. We had donations of gift wrap and tape and bows.

Our family has many special memories of the people who came through the doors to shop the Free Christmas. It was very heart fulfilling to see them choose their free gifts, have them wrapped and be able to leave with pretty presents to put under their tree.

This year we have partnered with the Beaver Creek Kritter 4-H group to host and organize the event. This year's Free Christmas will be held Friday, Dec. 5 from 4-6 p.m. at the Sagle Senior Center on Monarch Road. We will be accepting donations from 1-4 p.m. Thursday at the Sagle Senior Center, and Friday from 2-4 p.m.

We want to make sure that everyone knows about the event and we encourage you to tell your friends and neighbors about it. If you have a need, or know someone who could benefit from the event, please come. On behalf of all those involved in the Free Christmas I want to thank you. I know those who donate items appreciate the opportunity to share, and those who come to shop also appreciate the chance to have something to give Christmas morning. Thank you, Bonner County.
